Humorous by nature and empathetic at heart: For youth and adult speaker, Malaysia Moná, this is only a slice of the pie. Malaysia's humorous yet informational style and message connect with students and adults, by sharing her story, guiding them to believe they can achieve anything they can perceive.

Malaysia Moná recognizes the harmful cycle that youth who have been sexually abused, can undeniably fall into until adulthood or sometimes, the end of their lives. Usually affecting daily activities like school, relationships, and self-reflection.

She is not a heavyweight champion but she got into the ring with life at an early age. By 37 defeats she was abused for 8 years, affected by it 10 years after. Told people about her abuse 19 times. Earning the position as a child sexual abuse expert, she has served 5 years as an executive director for Save Our Kids LLC, South Carolina Youth Advocacy Program, behavior specialist and volunteered for Richland county guardian ad litem and sexual trauma services of the Midlands. At the age of 2, Malaysia, and her 4 brothers and sister were abandoned by her mother. After almost starved and left alone for days, they were forced to separate. Taken in by people who were supposed to care for her, she was sexually and physically abused. Gaining the courage to tell school staff and neighbors, no one helped her. With persistence, she never gave up by writing notes and letters until someone helped. However, before healing, Malaysia became suicidal, depressed and angry. The abuse affected her daily school performance, sleep, relationships and drove her to bully. All of which students and adults who have been sexually abused can connect with today.

Malaysia Moná understands that when students are educated on sexual abuse, it makes them become aware of what’s right or wrong when it comes to abusive behavior. Therefore, they can become more confident, active and speak out to better their lives. Youth will feel less pressure and ultimately, the school benefits with better test scores, in athletics, and academically. To her, these are important matters.

If she is not speaking to youth, you can find her transforming individuals and organizations in the fight to ending child sexual abuse.

When listening to Malaysia, your audience will find themselves laughing and hanging on to her stories every word while actively participating in learning important lessons.

Today, Malaysia Moná resides in Columbia, South Carolina amongst friends and family with a new baby boy who inspires her to continue to change the world. At home, you can find her writing action screenplays, changing diapers or binging on Game of Thrones, Power, and Netflix.
